Get to Parthenon Books this Friday, Aug 18th, 6:00 pm. 335 S. Salina St. downtown Syracuse! Not just for some great music but more importantly for a Q&A with author Mike Streissguth about his new book “Highways and Heartaches: How Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart and Children of the New South Saved the Soul of Country Music” (Hachette Books). A cultural history set in the country and bluegrass world of the 1970s, the book tracks two child prodigies growing up in the strange and vibrant music industry of the South on their way to becoming influencers in the roots-based Americanca movement. I’ll be playing with The Cadley’s from 6:00-6:30 with Q&A to follow!
