Not just for some great music but more importantly for a Q&A with author Mike Streissguth about his new book “Highways and Heartaches: How Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart and Children of the New South Saved the Soul of Country Music” (Hachette Books). A cultural history set in the country and bluegrass world of the 1970s, the book tracks two child prodigies growing up in the strange and vibrant music industry of the South on their way to becoming influencers in the roots-based Americanca movement. I’ll be playing with The Cadley’s from 6:00-6:30 with Q&A to follow! →

About Joe

Joe Davoli is an award-winning performer of several styles of music including Celtic, rock, jazz, bluegrass, blues, and classical. He has composed and recorded music for an off-Broadway revival, served as musical supervisor for a short film, and has published a successful method book for fiddle and mandolin. His solo CD “Game Plan” has received international acclaim. He is currently a full time member of Ceili Rain, as well as, a studio musician and teacher.

Saturday, April 20th! Always pleasure playing with Tim Ball! Tim’s fiddling is infectious! Makes you want to dance! His music tells stories about hard work, immigration, community, and joyous celebration. Tim holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Ithaca College and maintains a private violin and fiddle studio in Ithaca. Doors open at 7:00. 1st fiddle tune will kick off at 7:30!
